Sometimes patients have excessively worn teeth or experience deep staining due to certain medications. When simply cleaning, polishing, or whitening your teeth does not help, we have an alternative to give you a dramatically improved appearance.
Dental veneers completely cover the front of the teeth that are visible when you smile. You maintain your natural tooth structure and we simply cover it with an esthetic restoration.
How Dental Veneers Work
You have probably seen smiles that you admire. When planning your perfect smile, we will discuss what you like including the shade so that you end up with a result you feel proud of.
Dr. Tip Tippit and Dr. Trey Tippit, along with the rest of our highly skilled dental team, are available to help you make a decision that looks natural for you. We will choose veneers that match your facial tone, structure, and age, so that the result looks like you were born with it – only better!
Dental Veneer Treatment
Dental veneers are a permanent commitment. We polish away some of your enamel to make room for your veneers so they look completely natural. If you have worn, shortened, or chipped teeth, dental veneers can lengthen your teeth and give you a youthful appearance.
Once we polish your enamel, we will take impressions to have custom veneers created by our dental lab. In the meantime, we will create temporaries to hold you over until your permanent veneers are ready. We will adhere your porcelain veneers to your tooth structure, creating a tight seal.
Most patients grow accustomed to their new veneers quickly, are impressed by how great they look, and wish they had sought treatment sooner!
Caring for Your Veneers
Porcelain veneers require special attention. They are strong, but you should treat them with care. Never bite into anything that is not food. Using your restorations to open packages, tear tape, or chew on ice may cause damage and require replacement.
It is essential that you maintain healthy gums. Your veneers will provide you with many years of service as long as you brush, floss, and keep your dental appointments. If your veneers come off or chip, contact us right away so we can repair or replace them.
If we recommended a nightguard, wear it diligently each night! Clenching and grinding can cause damage to teeth and restorations alike.
