Frequently Asked QuestionsAt Tippit Dental Group, we want to give you as much information about dental conditions as well as our treatments and services so you can make an educated decision with us about your health. That’s why we have posted some of our most commonly asked questions below. If you still have questions, call our practice at 713-465-1860 so we can help you.
What are your office hours? We see patients by appointment from 8:00 a.m. until 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; and from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Fridays. How do I get to your office? Our facility is located at 9099 Katy Freeway, Houston. We are on the Southwest corner of Campbell and Interstate 10. You'll find us occupying a large suite designed and decorated with your comfort and relaxation in mind. What do I do if I have an emergency when the office is closed? If you have an emergency, please call our office number at 713-465-1860 and follow the instructions to contact our on-call doctor. Do you accept referrals?Absolutely. In fact, our practice depends on the referrals of our satisfied patients. If you like the way we have cared for you, please tell your friends, family and coworkers about us. You can be certain they will receive the same courteous, expert care that you have. When they call for an appointment, be sure to have them tell our scheduling coordinator that you recommended them. How do you handle appointments? We believe that your time is as valuable as ours. In order to give you the quality treatment you deserve, appointments are required for non-emergency care. When you have an appointment, we respectfully schedule your visit to prevent long waits. We make every effort to stay on schedule. When you walk through our door, you can expect us to be waiting on you – not the other way around. What are your different payment options?Affordable dental care is one of our biggest concerns. We keep the cost of your dental care affordable so that you and your family receive individual quality care. We achieve this goal by requesting payment for your treatment at the time of your visit. We accept cash, check, or credit cards, such as MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover. As an additional courtesy to our patients, we will file your insurance claims and accept an assignment of your benefit. We ask that you pay the estimated amount not covered by your insurance at the time of each of your appointments. We also stress that insurance is an agreement between you and your insurance company. Since you are ultimately responsible for paying in full for all of the services you receive, please review your policy before your appointment. If you need insurance options, the Tippit Dental Group is now a DenTex Dental Plan provider. You can call 713-467-4241 for further information. If your dental treatment exceeds your budget, our financial coordinator can assist you in making alternative arrangements. We are pleased to offer the CareCredit® card, the nation's leading patient payment program. With CareCredit® you can finance 100% of your dental care and there are no upfront costs, no annual fees, and no pre-payment penalties. So, you can begin your treatment today and conveniently pay with low, monthly payments. Call us at 713-465-1860 for more information. At what age should my children first see a dentist? We would like to see children after their third birthday. At this time, we will perform just a visual exam to see how their teeth are doing. When your child is older, we will complete a more comprehensive exam. How do the dentists keep up to date on all of the current techniques and materials?Dr. Tippit and his associates are extensively trained. Because dentistry is constantly changing, our entire team does a number of things to stay up to date on all of the current findings. We attend the Star of the South Dental Meeting in Houston and the Annual Session of the Texas Dental Association in San Antonio each year, taking courses to strategically advance each of our particular skills. I have a temporary crown in my mouth. What happens if it comes off or breaks? When a temporary crown falls off or breaks, reattach the crown using dental adhesive or tooth paste. Then, call us immediately at 713-465-1860 so we can schedule an appointment to evaluate the damage. I really do not like visiting the dentist. Is there anything you can do to help me relax? We can tell when people are nervous about being in a dentist’s office. Nothing seems to help them relax. We have a number of features in our office to help you feel less stressed. Our entire team is extensively trained and extremely gentle. We plan all of our treatments so you are comfortable and we can work efficiently and quickly. If you are uneasy, talk to us. Everyone on our team is extremely friendly and always looking for ways to make you more comfortable. During your visit, we have high resolution monitors so you can watch TV or movies. We also have Walkmans and personal CD players so you can listen to music. If you’re still jittery about visiting us, we also offer oral sedation. How can I safely whiten my teeth? Many of our patients ask about whitening their teeth. Since each mouth is unique, we need to evaluate your teeth to recommend a specific method. If your teeth are cracked, chipped, or discolored, our dentists may recommend restorative services, such as veneers or bonding. If you want to bleach your teeth, we use Nite White® in our office. How can I ask Dr. Tippit questions directly? Our entire team welcomes any of your questions during your visit. If you have questions before your visit, browse through the Frequently Asked Questions or you can call our office at 713-465-1860. |
